The sane order is the one Steam still describes in the expansion copy. Hearts of Stone is the first official expansion, over 10 hours, released 12 October 2015, hired to deal with Olgierd von Everec. Blood and Wine is the final 2016 expansion, 20+ hours in Toussaint, released 30 May 2016. Songs of the Past is the unreleased third expansion. Play the base campaign first unless you deliberately launch an expansion standalone from the menu.

CDPR's inclusion FAQ says Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are now in the base game for Remastered / Complete Edition. You do not buy them again on the listed storefronts. You can still start each one separately from the main menu if you want that structure. That standalone start does not change the story advice: Hearts of Stone still sits after the base Path, Blood and Wine still sits after Hearts of Stone for a first playthrough.

Do not wait for Songs of the Past before you play the 2015 and 2016 packs. They are already on the disc you upgraded. Songs of the Past requires Complete Edition, is Coming soon on Steam, and a 27 May 2026 press release said 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. What Songs of the Past is, and is not

Songs of the Past is Steam app 5006530, developed by CD PROJEKT RED, Fool's Theory and Yigsoft. The store page lists it as Coming soon and requires Complete Edition. The press center article from 27 May 2026 called it a third expansion and said Geralt returns to a new region, with a 2027 window on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. That is the status. There is no playable date on the Steam listing beyond Coming soon.

It is not the Remastered upgrade. Remastered is the 29 September 2026 free update of the Complete Edition. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are already inside that edition. Buying or claiming Remastered does not unlock Songs of the Past. When the expansion ships, it will be a paid pack on top of Complete Edition, according to the requirement on the Steam page.

The press note does not include a quest list, an extra map name, or a runtime. When CDPR publishes a playable date or a contents list, that status belongs here. Until then, finish the base Path and the two included expansions. Returning players who already did those packs can sit on the Coming soon row and play Remastered's new tree and graphics in Toussaint while they wait. If you only own a very old standalone expansion SKU, the inclusion FAQ is the document that explains Complete Edition is now the digital product; Remastered does not put those delisted SKUs back on the store.
